Ruth Curtice appointed as new Chief Executive of the Resolution Foundation 19 November 2024 Today (Tuesday) the Resolution Foundation has announced that Ruth Curtice has been appointed as its new Chief Executive and will start on January 20th 2025. Ruth is currently Director of fiscal policy at HM Treasury (HMT) where she has worked for over 15 years. Her career has focused on domestic economic policy including labour markets, tax, fiscal policy and financial regulation. Ruth has held a wide range of roles in HMT, including working in the Chancellor’s private office, supporting the Independent Commission on Banking, and leading the Treasury’s distributional analysis. Ruth joins at an exciting time for the Resolution Foundation as it builds on the success of its recent Economy 2030 Inquiry, embarks on a major study of the lives and economic prospects of the UK’s 13 million low-to-middle income households, and renews its analysis and advocacy for higher wage growth, better jobs and a stronger social security system to support hard-pressed families. The Foundation was founded in 2005 with the purpose of raising living standards for low-to-middle income working-age households. It is an independent research and policy institute combining analytical rigour with this clear driving purpose. Clive Cowdery, Founder and Chairman of the Resolution Foundation, said: “I am delighted that Ruth will be taking the leadership of the Resolution Foundation in our 20th year, as Britain enters a decisive decade of policy choices. “She brings an exceptional track record in economic analysis and policy making, and shares a deep commitment to the Resolution Foundation’s mission to improve the living standards of millions of families on low-to-middle incomes.” Ruth Curtice, incoming Chief Executive of the Resolution Foundation, said “I am excited to be leading the Resolution Foundation into the next phase of its valuable work. I have seen at first hand the impact its excellent analysis has had on policy in the UK. I look forward to furthering its mission to improve the living standards of low-to-middle income households.”
