The Liberal Democrat approach to tackling low pay with Vince Cable MP

With five million people being paid less than the living wage politicians of all parties need an agenda to address the UK’s low wage economy and lift living standards.

At this Resolution Foundation and TUC event Vince Cable MP (Business Secretary) discussed the Liberal Democrat agenda for improving the plight of low paid Britain. Frances O’Grady (TUC), James Plunkett (Resolution Foundation) and Stephen Tall (Liberal Democrat Voice) responded, providing insights into the potential policy responses the Liberal Democrats might choose to pursue. Beth Rigby (Financial Times) chaired the event.

This event is part of a Resolution Foundation series on low pay and the 2015 election. This includes events at the Labour party conference with Andy Burnham MP and at the Conservative party conference with Tim Montgomerie and Guy Opperman MP.
