Tom Clark

Principal Editor

Tom re-joined RF in September 2024 to work as Principal Editor. A journalist with a special interest in social science, Tom Clark joined RF for much of 2023 as a Research Associate, to help with the task of distilling the 80+ papers conducted under the Economy 2030 Inquiry into a final report. Tom is a Contributing Editor at Prospect, the magazine he edited for five years, and had previously spent a decade at the Guardian where he rose to be chief leader writer. He has also worked in two Whitehall departments, the Institute for Fiscal Studies, and – more recently – as a Fellow at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. He has written and edited a number of books on different aspects of inequality, including most recently Broke: Fixing Britain’s poverty crisis, which is out with Biteback.
