Britain is emerging from two major international economic shocks, that have rocked the labour market. Getting employment back up to record levels and inactivity down to historic lows will play a key role in boosting economic growth in the decade ahead. In this event, we’ll discuss how a Conservative government would take on this task.

The UK is facing two huge problems – economic stagnation and stalled progress on its net zero transition. In this event, hosted by the Resolution Foundation and sponsored by the Energy Systems Operator (ESO), we’ll discuss how would a Labour government address these challenges, and the conflicts and complements between its strategies for economic growth and a net zero transition.

Britain has a high quantity of work, but its record on job quality is less impressive, with too many workers facing low pay, insecure contracts and poor working conditions. In this event, co-hosted by the Resolution Foundation, Living Wage Foundation and EY UK, we’ll discuss how a Labour government would improve the quality of work across Britain.
