While the Covid-19 pandemic has been about curbing and contraction – from normal activities to employment – many aspects of household wealth have grown very swiftly. Families unable to spend have amassed extra savings and homeowners have seen the value of their properties soar. But these wealth surges have been far from even, with some families having to run down savings or borrow to cope with the crisis. As the economy recovers from Covid, it is vital to fully understand its lasting impact on households’ balance sheets. How much has the pandemic impacted on the level of household wealth and debt across Britain? Who has seen their wealth rise, and what has that done to wealth gaps between rich and poor? Are these changes lasting or temporary? And how should policy makers respond? To mark the launch of its annual Wealth Audit, in partnership with the Standard Life Foundation, the Resolution Foundation is hosting an interactive webinar to discuss and answer these questions. Following on from a presentation of the report’s key findings, leading experts will explore the impact of the pandemic on wealth across the UK, and discuss where wealth trends are heading next. Viewers can submit questions to the panel before and during the event. width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"> In partnership with
