The Labour agenda for tackling low pay – Rachel Reeves MP

With five million people being paid less than the living wage politicians of all parties need an agenda to address the UK’s low wage economy and lift living standards. In a keynote speech, Rachel Reeves MP set out the Labour agenda for improving the plight of low paid Britain. Paul Cleal (Government and Public Sector Leader at PwC), Margaret Prosser (Former President of the TUC), andDavid Skelton (Director of Renewal) responded, providing insights into the potential policy responses government might choose to pursue. Allegra Stratton (Political Editor of BBC Newsnight) chaired the event.

This event was part of a Resolution Foundation series on low pay and the 2015 election. The first speech was by Matthew Hancock MP for the Conservatives and the second by David Laws MP for the Liberal Democrats.
